Harley-Davidson, one of the most traditional motorcycle companies in the world, advertises that tradition keep us grounded and innovation sets us free. And believe it, they walk the torque.
The 2012 Road King Classic now comes with a standard 103-cubic-inch twin cam engine, packed with so much power that it will have no problem overtaking road stragglers throwing carbon monoxide in your face.
This royalty of a bike is one of the most popular models Harley-Davidson sells, according to JC Crouch, store manager at Kaua‘i Harley-Davidson in Puhi. It is also one of the most comfortable bikes out there, with a well-adjusted suspension, a six-speed transmission and large tires.
But to become the King of the Road on top of a Road King, one needs experience. Crouch said a more appropriate bike for beginners would be the Sportster model.
Harley Davidson has long been labeled as an unreliable bike. Crouch said this was true, but also that the company has changed dramatically in the last few years. Harley-Davidson bikes are so reliable these days that they offer a two-year factory warranty, the best warranty in the market, according to Crouch.
The Road King Classic featured can be seen in the Harley-Davidson store in Puhi, and is available for $19,999 plus tax. And yes, those really cool saddlebags are included.
