Happy Camper for Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Kudos to Pat Viernes and all the county’s Department of Parks and Recreation volunteers on hosting a great Hershey’s Track and Field Games Saturday.

The excitement carried over to the soccer fields where Kevin Devitt and his Kaua‘i Soccer Association crew were hosting the spring league championships.

It didn’t matter that Ross Shimabukuro had graduation Friday night because he was on hand to watch his niece Kalia Shimabukuro do her thing as goalie.

Darla Abbatiello-Higa was doing graduation Friday night and, despite working Project Grad until 5 a.m. Saturday, still had her Police Explorers doing Keiki ID at the Police Week celebration at Kukui Grove.

Explorer Shelby Tangalin was also at graduation to watch her brother Jonathan Tangalin graduate and made it to Police Week as well.

Officer Darla said Officer Mark Ozaki did graduation and was on an early plane to O‘ahu for K-PAL Boxing.

OK, time to check out Jenn Linton and the last of the Walking School Buses for this year.

If Bev Brody shows up, wish her a belated happy birthday.
