National Train Day Celebration set for Saturday

The public is invited to the National Train Day Celebration hosted by the Grove Farm museum Saturday at the Haleko Road train yard.

Free train rides on steam-powered locomotives will roll on the original Lihu‘e Plantation locomotive Right-of-Way. Paulo, Hawai‘i’s oldest operating plantation locomotive, and Wainiha, Hawai‘i’s last steam sugar cane train, will be seen.

People will also have the opportunity to become a founding “Friends of Waioli” member by the Grove Farm museum to enjoy the many benefits which go along with supporting the ongoing preservation and conservation efforts of Waioli Corp.
