Mahalo to Mary Bea Porter King, Cathy Torchiana of Maui (her nephew is swimming coach Billy Brown), Lauren Yama and Joseph King on having the live results of the David Ishii Foundation HHSAA State golf championships … according to Lauren, we’ll do it again next week when the boys take the course.
Hats off to Ross Shimabukuro, Ian Costa and all the parties involved in hosting such a great tournament. Pono Tokioka even came out Wednesday to get a feel for the boys’ tournament which starts next Tuesday at the Wailua Golf Course. Earl Miyao said he’ll be off-island, but maybe Ralph Suniga will help out.
It was a pleasant surprise to run into Melissa Ludwig and Jessie Castro had a golf cart filled with equipment for his gig with the Star-Advertiser.
Coach Glenn Tamagawa is excited because his Sony a57 should be here in time for that excitement and even Kerry Oda took out his gear after following his daughter Na‘ea on the course over two days.
Mahalo to all who pitched in to make sure David Ishii (who knew he was Ross’s classmate “since nursery school days?”) had good memories.
