Congratulations to Taryn Dizon and Patti Ornellas, Katie Burleson and all the organizers on a great Relay for Life event Saturday at the Hanapepe Stadium soccer fields!
Kelvin Moniz (He said they should have sold Lappert’s Ice Cream.) was at the Special Olympics regional qualifying swim meet and still made it down to the Relay.
Pauline Ibia rousted her Walmart team for the overnight stay in Hanapepe, and Basilio “Bunga” Fuertes said he had a new girlfriend Saturday (actually, counting his wife Millie, he had four!).
Shelly and Darryl Gerardo were cruising at the campground, and Gerald Ako was doing his thing at the HGEA tent with Mia Ako soliciting lei flowers. Janice Bond got Wanda Shibata to do the lei thing near the Survivors’ Tent, and even Ted Inouye was walking his laps.
Irving Soto anchored the Kaua‘i Community Federal Credit Union tent, and even Paul and Millie Curtis spent time walking, stopping to check out the Aloha Dance Studio dancers.
Kudos to Maka Herrod, who did a great job emcee-ing the event. Kahanu Smith and Nalani Brun were anchoring the entertainment tent.
