Happy Camper for Wednesday, April 25, 2012

DJ Marv deVera had one busy weekend, spinning tunes and making announcements at the Visitor Industry Charity Walk bowling tournament, then rising early Sunday to help Makaiwa Gun set up for the Ride for Charity at Hanama‘ulu Beach Park.

But it wasn’t that simple as Marv said once the riders assembled, he was to head out to Kekaha to spin some tunes there before returning to Hanama‘ulu.

Congratulations to Keegan Loo who finished tied for third at the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association Junior Tour Series on Maui over the weekend. Keegan ended with a two-day 164 (86-78) to tie with John Kaylan Dumo of Maui in the boys 13-14 division.

His brother Rilen Loo finished with a 184 (95-89) in the boys 11-12 division, and Hi‘ilani Rosa-Alana of Lihu‘e ended with a two-day 213 (108-105) in the girls 13-14 division.

Welcome to Kaua‘i, Alfie Sabino, the operations director at the Marriott Waiohai Beach Club (May Day festivities May 1. She was picked up at the airport by Christina Gabriel and whisked straight to the Charity Walk bowling tournament!
