Happy Camper for Monday, April 2, 2012

Kaulana Park on Friday discovered he used to play baseball against Brent Mizutani when they were in high school. He was also impressed to meet Ariel Cummings, who was one of the notable players during the Dennis Agena (He was Kaulana’s coach.) clinic over the weekend.

Kaulana came to visit Kaua‘i with American Savings Bank to present Kapa‘a High School with a $10,000 award for winning the Kaua‘i Bank for Education program.

It’s amazing how much change takes place in a year with all new faces at the ASB branches. Of course, nothing tops the Kapa‘a High School cafeteria cinnamon rolls, and Daniel Hamada made sure the guests knew that all that goodness came from the cafeteria manager.

Hats off to Catherine Paleka and her Polynesian Music class who offered up hula as entertainment for the ASB dignitaries.

Stephanie Cram was impressive with their cartoon presentation for the ASB people, and didn’t stop there as she did ball girl duty during the KIF volleyball game.

OK, it’s off for another busy week — it’s already April!
