State awards $430,000 to Native Hawaiian scholarship program

The University of  Hawai‘i’s Maui College reported an Office of Hawaiian Affairs grant award of $430,000 given to the Liko A‘e Native Hawaiian Scholarship Program. The award will provide Hawaiians financial aid for the upcoming 2012-2013 academic year. 

Scholarship awards range between $2,000 to $5,000 per full-time student for the school year.   

Eligible students can begin applying online for the scholarship beginning Monday. The deadline is May 1. More information and the application form are available at www.likoae.org or call (808) 984-3630.
