HONOLULU — A four-run third inning propelled the Hawai‘i Rainbows to a 4-0 win over the Wichita State Shockers Saturday afternoon in Honolulu. The win was Hawai‘i’s third-straight over the Shockers and extended the Rainbows’ winning streak to eight games.

The win was Hawai‘i’s third-straight over the Shockers and extended the Rainbows’ winning streak to eight games.
The Rainbows and Shockers traded scoreless frames until the meat of the Hawai‘i order came up in the bottom of the third.
Rainbow third baseman Collin Bennett drove a pitch through the left side with the bases loaded to score two runs to start the scoring. Bennett was directly followed by a two-run scoring double off the bat of first baseman Max Duval.
The four runs gave Hawai‘i starting pitcher Scott Squier more than enough room to work with.
The freshman pitcher stymied the Shocker lineup, allowing no runs and three hits over eight innings, while striking out seven batters.
Jesse Moore pitched a perfect ninth for the Rainbows, striking out one en route to the save.
Bennett led the Rainbows with two hits in four at bats.
With the win, the Rainbows improved their overall record to 9-3. The Rainbows look for a four-game sweep over the Shockers this afternoon at 12:05.
