Uchida’s 69 good for Kaua‘i Senior win

WAILUA — Alvin Uchida shot a 69 to place first in the A flight of the Kaua‘i Seniors Golf Club Tournament last week at the Wailua Golf Course.

Uchida narrowly edged out Hawk Kawaihalau, who shot a 70. The trio of Paul Iwai, Ivan Nitta and Gerald Castillo tied for third place, with each player shooting a 71.

In the B flight, Abe Iloreta paced the field with a 68, good for a 2-stroke win over Larry Blow’s 70. Dennis Hurlbert and Pat Remelb each shot a 71 for a third-place tie.

In the C flight, Brad Imano, Bill Morita and Ron Chittenden equaled each other on top of the leaderboard, with each shooting a 68. Barbara Yoshihara came in fourth place with a 71.
