Josefina M. Cuadro (Pinay) of Kekaha died at home on Feb. 28, 2012 at the age of 82. She was born in Bangui Ilocos Norte Philippines.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Wenceslao Cuadro.
She is survived by her sisters, Victoria M. Soliva and Rosalina M. Gonzales of the Philippines; nieces, Thelma (Robert)Temate, Angelita (Art) Ramiscal of Las Vegas, Remedios Malabe of Pakala; caregiver, Milagros (Antonio “blue”) Ragragola of Kekaha. Numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 9, at 6 p.m. at the Borthwick Mortuary, Koloa. Refreshments to follow. Cremation at a later date.
Consuelo Amorin
Consuelo “Connie” De La Cruz Amorin of Hanama‘ulu, Kaua‘i, passed away on Feb. 29, 2012, at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home in ‘Oma‘o at the age of 80. She was born on Aug. 18, 1931, in Kealia, Kaua‘i. She was a home health caregiver for St. Francis.
Preceded in death by: parents, Constancio and Antonia De La Cruz; son, Patrick D. Amorin; sisters, Juanita Wileman and Consolacion Cline.
She is survived by: husband, Stanley Amorin, Kaua‘i; daughters, Phyllis Amorin, Kaua‘i;,Rochelle (Leroy) Vandergalien, Wisconsin, Christine (Wilbur) Villanueva, Kaua‘i; sons, Stanley (Connie) Amorin Jr., Kaua‘i, David (Terilyn) Amorin, Kaua‘i; sister, Rose Carvalho, Kaua‘i; brothers, Sonny De La Cruz, Kaua‘i, Mark De La Cruz, Kaua‘i; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday March 8, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihu‘e. Visitation at 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Family suggests casual attire.

Joseph Mahinai Jr.
Joseph Kaheleiki Mahinai Jr. of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 30, 2012, at the age of 55. He was born in Lihu‘e on April 20, 1956, and was employed by Paradise Pacifica as a tour guide.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Kaheleiki Mahinai Sr. and Agnes Kualu Mahinai, and his sister, Darleen “PeeWee” Clark.
He is survived by his brother, Wesley (Karen) Yadao; sisters, Sandra (Patrick) Mahinai, B. Kuulei (Rick) Mahinai-Ornellas, Laverne (Rudolph) Gomes, JoAnn Moani Mahinai; numerous uncles, aunties, nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 10, starting at 9 a.m. at Anahola “John’s Garden” (across from Anahola Beach Park).
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Mahinai family with arrangements.
