Gene Padilla was busy officiating basketball games over the weekend, but had time to take in breakfast Sunday during the 26th Annual American Culinary Federation Breakfast at the Kaua‘i Community College.
Hats off to Chef Martina Hildorfer, Mark Oyama (Spring Gourmet Gala coming in April), Duane Miyasato and all the organizers on a great event!
Chef Clarence Nishi was out selling last-minute tickets Saturday at the Kaua‘i Community Market and on Sunday was peddling ceramics at the Potheads’ pottery sale. Joseph Vegas was doing his usual wooden pens and wood craft items, and Gini Kapali had to check out the earrings.
Andrea Franier was doing her “Check the Scene” piece since coach Rick postponed baseball practice due to the rain.
Bonnie Honma had husband Eric working, and they even got Glenn Taba to spend some time in the serving line — as did Chuck Brady and Jolene Ogle of the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club. Chef Guy Higa did a good job of staying behind the scene.
