Virginia Fajardo
Virginia “Virgie” Fajardo of Wailua Houselots passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family in her home on Feb. 8, 2012. She was born on May 15, 1940, in Lihu‘e and was the eldest of four children. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and friend to many and, most of all, she was a warm and loving nana to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Freitas and sister, Marie Cacabelos.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond; children, Angela (Eric) Fajardo of Wailua Houselots, Daniel (Holly) Fajardo of Omao, Allison (Makoto) Sato of Honolulu, and Raydene (Chris) Gampon of Lawai. She was also blessed with grandchildren, Shawn “Keku” and Virginia “Nala” Fajardo, Daniel “Ikaika” and Levi (Melody) Fajardo, Jet and Jax Sato and Christopher “Kawaikini” and Isabel Gampon and great-grand children, Eli and Lukas Fajardo; siblings, Vincent (Georgie) Freitas of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Linda Paden of Koloa.
A celebration of her life will be held at their home on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m.
Gary Ohlrich
Gary “Buzz” Roland Ohlrich of Koloa died at home on Feb. 6, 2012, at the age of 61. He was born in Michigan on Oct. 18, 1950, a Vietnam veteran serving his country from 1968 until1971. He was also known for his beautiful custom woodwork.
He is survived by his two sons, Gary (Angie) Ohlrich and Mike Ohlrich; brother, Doug Ohlrich; sister, Paula; six grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Jenna, Brett, Kelsey and Kyle; nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe with services beginning at 10 a.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Ohlrich family with arrangements.
Gary Konishi
Gary Iwao Konishi of Lihu‘e died on Feb. 14, 2012, at the age of 84. Born on June 17, 1927, he was a retired proprietor of Gary’s Service Inc.
He is preceded by his brother, Tetsuo Konishi, and two sisters, Violet Sato and Elaine Kaneko.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie K. Konishi; son, Glen S. Konishi (Shelley) of Lihu‘e; daughter, Gail A. Haruki (Warren) of Honolulu; two brothers, Donald Konishi (Mildred) of Omao and Michael Konishi (Ruby) of Honolulu; three sisters, Kimiyo Asai of Lawai, Natsue Iwamoto of ‘Ele‘ele and Linda Kawakami of Kalaheo; sister-in-law, Aileen Konishi of Lawai and five grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihu‘e. Visitation from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Service to begin at 3:30 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
