• Florefin Mande
Florefin Shirley Mande of Hanama‘ulu died at Garden Isle Health Care on Jan. 26, 2012, at the age of 76. She was born in Wahiawa, O‘ahu, on Nov. 26, 1935, and retired as an assistant housekeeper with The Westin Kaua‘i and was also a well-known seamstress and bowler.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Mande, daughter, Kathlyn Mande; siblings, Jerry (Violet) Fernandez, Suzanna (Irenio) Salvacion and Ben Castillo.
She is survived by her husband, William Mande Sr.; sons, Kalena Glenford Mande, William (Cindy) Mande Jr.; daughter, Melory (Napuanani) Mande-Oliver; sisters, Angie (Luis) Flores; brothers, Sonny (Patricia) Ventura, Edward (Nickie) Tarape; sister-in-law, Silvia Castillo; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Mande family with arrangements.
