Two assistant chiefs of police placed on leave

LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i Police Chief Darryl Perry has placed Assistant Chief Roy Asher and Assistant Chief Ale Quibilan on leave effective Tuesday. The county confirmed the action, but did not release details and described it as a personnel matter.

According to the county, police Capt. Sherwin Perez now serves as the acting assistant chief of the Investigative Services Bureau.

Lt. Jon Takamura, who is currently acting captain of the Patrol Services Bureau, will now serve as its acting assistant chief.

Quibilan has served as acting assistant chief of the Patrol Bureau since December 2008. He was confirmed to the position in December 2010.

Perry could not be reached for comment.
