Teruyoshi Tamura
Teruyoshi Tamura of Puhi died on Jan. 18, 2012, at the age of 90. He was born on Feb. 18, 1921. He was a retired automotive mechanic with Grove Farm Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Naoichi and Ito Tamura; brother, Harumi Tamura and two sisters, Ichiko Marugame and Kazue Muranaka
He is survived by his wife, Masako Tamura of Puhi; two sons, Stanley (Darlene) Tamura of Hilo and Patrick (Evelyn) Tamura of Idaho; and two daughters, Joyce ( Dr. Stanley) Yamane of Florida and Evelyn Tomari of O‘ahu; one brother, Robert Tamura of Lihu‘e, two sisters, Natsuko Daida of Lihu‘e, Akie Sunada of O‘ahu and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
Atsushi Ikeda
Atsushi “Hotty” Ikeda of Lawa’i died on Jan. 16, 2012, at the age of 90.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1921. He entered into the U.S. Army on Jan. 3, 1944, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 8, 1945. He was a Tech 4. He retired from Olokele Sugar Co.
He is survived by his wife, Sachi Ikeda of Lawa’i; one son, Alyn Ikeda of Honolulu; one granddaughter, Aftin Ikeda of Honolulu and one brother, Toshio “Tenny” (Tsuneyo) Ikeda of Kaumakani; daughter-in-law, Daphne Ikeda of Aiea; nephews, Mitchell (Carol) Ikeda of Lihu’e; Randy Ono of Lawa’i; Wayne (Valerie) Ono of Aiea; Renard (Noreen) Saiki of Kahului; Dean (Bernie) Saiki of Kahalui and Patrick (Susan) Ikeda of Honolulu; nieces, Diane (Brian) Turnbull of Camarillo, Calif.; Lorraine (Galen) Yee of Bothel, Wash.; brother-in-law, Masao (Kiyoko) Ono of Lawa’i; Katsumi (Frances) Ikeda of Lawa’i; sister-in-law, Fumie Saiki of Kahalui and cousin, Pat Yamaoka of Kaneohe.
Memorial services will be held on Jan. 28 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Service to begin at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire.

Ernest McIntosh
Ernest George McIntosh of Princeville died on Jan. 20, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. He was born in Seattle, Wash., on March 2, 1925, and retired as a pilot with the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his son, John McIntosh.
He is survived by his wife, Doris McIntosh; daughter, Linda (Randy) Spears, sons, Michael (Cindy) McIntosh, Randy (Vickie) McIntosh; sister, Shirley Murphy; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the McIntosh family with arrangements.
