Citrus with leaves is one of the items people can use to celebrate the Chinese New Year, Eric Wu said Monday.
Chinese New Year — this is the Year of the Dragon — will be celebrated next Monday, the sunshine market vendor said.
Glenna Ueunten had a variety of citrus with leaves, and Ken Yasutake had a crop of young helpers working citrus and protea from Koke‘e. Citrus is for wishes for a sweet beginning for the coming year.
Hats off to Taryn Dizon and Patti Ornellas (used to be Ragasa) for co-chairing the American Cancer Society Relay for Life! Katie Burleson was helping the two women since Mary Williamson got promoted and is doing all kinds of regional stuff, Katie said.
Patrice Pendarvis (just saw her Friday at Sweet Marie’s) and Marionette Taboniar had to worry about the sprinkles Sunday during the National Tropical Botanical Garden’s ‘Ohana Day, when the Women Artists of Kaua‘i were conducting watercolor lessons.
