County staff earn energy manager certification
LIHU‘E — Three Kaua‘i County engineers have earned a designation as certified energy manager, issued by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
AEE is a professional organization that promotes the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and fosters action for sustainable development, a county news release states.
“We are very pleased that Doug Haigh, building division chief, and Brian Inouye, building manager, along with David Craddick, Department of Water manager and chief engineer, attended the certified energy manager seminar and passed the examination,” Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. said in the release. “This clearly demonstrates their professionalism and expertise in the growing field of energy management, which will help the county in our efforts to become more energy efficient.”
To obtain a CEM designation, Haigh, Inouye and Craddick each were required to pass an exam, and have a specific combination of education and experience and letters of recommendation.
