KAPA‘A – Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr. will attend a blessing of a bus stop bench at the Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a meeting with residents at the center from 6 to 8 p.m., the mayor’s office said Monday.
The bench was donated to the Kapa‘a community by third-graders from the Kamehameha Schools Kali‘imamo program.
The sheltering of all bus stops on Kaua’i is part of the mayor’s Holo Holo 2020 vision.
At the community meeting, Carvalho will present an update on his Holo Holo 2020 program. His staff will present an update on the Ke Ala Hele Makalae multi-use path, the Wailua-Kapa‘a Development Plan and bridge projects in the area, according to a news release from the mayor’s office.
The next community outreach meeting will be held at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center on Jan. 25, followed by a meeting at the Ko¯loa Neighborhood Center on Jan. 26. All community meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
The mayor will attend Ki¯lauea and Hanama¯’ulu community association meetings in February. He will meet with residents at the Ki¯lauea, Li¯hu’e, Kala¯heo and Waimea neighborhood centers later in 2012.
