The Bermoy family came all the way from Kapa‘a to celebrate Fiona’s birthday. Mom and Dad enjoyed sushi and steak while the siblings and kids enjoyed their favorites.
Amanda Mayer and Shawn Remigi of Lihu‘e enjoyed their college break with a sushi date. The two had already finished their first order when I stopped by. Owner Ritchie Ogata was serving them a plate of clams and a deep-fried “Regulator Roll”, with spicy tuna, cucumber and mango, and an order of the Eternal Sunshine roll.
Doug Dureg stopped by around 8 p.m. to order from kitchen.
The bar side has a big screen TV for sports, DJ music, pool table, dancing and a patio. Try the tap beer specials and garlic fries.
More importantly, there is a full bar and happy hour with friendly bartenders Dusty Lin Farias, Franci Davila and Lauren Jollymour.
Restaurant favorites are fried whole shrimp appetizers and the one-pound burger. Try the stuffed pork chops and gravy or the mushroom bacon cheeseburger or great hoagies, BBQ ribs or the steak pupu platter.
Breakfast is the big surprise. Try the Bumbucha platter of fried rice, hash browns, eggs, corned beef hash balls, Portuguese sausage and oki or macadamian pancakes. They have ono fried rice and omelettes, chicken katsu saimin, or pupu steak. Try the bento box with salmon for lunch o. 246-6300.
