Larissa Crain, a sophomore at Minnesota State Univesity Moorhead was named to the honorable mention All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer team.
Crain, a graduate of Kapa‘a High School where she starred for the Warriors soccer team, started 16 of the Dragons’ 17 games as a defender. She recorded seven shots on the season with three on goal for a .429 shot-on-goal percentage, states a release from the MSUM.
During her freshman year, Crain was able to get off two shots while playing five games.
Larissa’s mom, Cindy, a former soccer coach on Kaua‘i, said Larissa was injured during her freshman year and had to undergo surgery, limiting her play to just five games.
She started her sophomore year missing the first game due to other commitments, but started the remaining 16 games, playing through for all but the final 18 minutes of the season.
The Dragons finished its season 8-8-1.
