Billed as Kaua‘i’s largest two-day music festival, hundreds of people gathered to Kealea Rise last weekend to soak in Hawai‘i’s musical diversity.
The 11th Annual Homegrown Music Festival included performances from Paula Fuga, Mike Love, The Throwdowns, Sashamon and Kaua‘i’s own Skunkdog. In all, 28 acts graced the stage during the two-day festival playing everything from reggae to rock, funk to folk and all genres in between.
The concert doubled as a benefit for Life 4 Kea, an organization that has been raising money for Kea Davis-Milo is an O‘ahu-based musician. Davis-Milo was diagnosed with Moyamoya disease, a rare, progressive cerebrovascular disorder. She is traveling to California for surgical treatment at the end of November.
