PUHI — Kaua‘i Community Players introduces a “pay what you can” performance for its upcoming stage comedy, “Christmas Belles.”
The calabash performance will be held at 4 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse. No admission will be charged.
“Christmas Belles” opens Dec. 1 and runs Thursday through Sunday, closing Dec. 18.
Members of KCP acknowledges the hard economic times and encourage people to enjoy the production at whatever they can afford, says Wil Welsh, president of KCP.
KCP board members hope there will be attendees who will pay more than the usual $20 admission to balance the proceeds.
“We also want to encourage people who haven’t been to a KCP production to experience a live theater performance,” Welsh says in a press release.
The Dec. 11 show will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, no reservations. KCP will not be raising admission prices for its other “Christmas Belles” performances, and tickets are $5 off regular admission during the opening weekend.
Performances are 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse.
“Christmas Belles” is written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. Set in Fayro, Texas, this comedy is a sequel to “Dearly Beloved,” which was produced by KCP in March.
Reservations are recommended and can be made at www.kauaicommunityplayers.org or by calling 800-838-3006. Call 245-7700 for general information.
