The Kaua‘i Humane Society announces its Home for the Holidays adoption promotion. The campaign is an effort to encourage families to adopt a homeless pet this holiday season.
Through December 31, kittens under six months are two for the price of one adoption fee, and any dog that is red, white or “bearded” is $25, a press release states. Adult cats older than six months have no adoption fee. KHS is also offering 10 percent off its retail shop, and adopters can receive 20 percent off obedience classes.
Regular adoption prices start are $60, which includes more than $300 worth of services and incentives, including spay and neuter surgery, microchip implant, vaccines and medical evaluations.
“We look at these amazing animals every day, and we know that they are counting on us to help them,” says Shannon Blizzard, executive director of KHS in a press release. “But we need our community to help us. Adult cats can be especially hard to place because people have misconceptions about them. Come spend five minutes in our free-roaming cattery and you will find that these cats are so amazing.”
KHS is located at 3-825 Kaumuali‘i Hwy. in Puhi and is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, plus 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday through Monday. For more information on how to adopt or make a donation, please call 638-0727.
