KOLOA — Joshua Herr took home the men’s 5K title at the 2011 Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run on Saturday. The Kaua‘i High School runner edged out Island School’s Ryan Perez.
Island School’s Joy Claypoole took home the women’s 5K title, edging out Tracy Vierra and Barbie Anderson.
In the 10K races, Marie Foster came away with the women’s crown while Basil Scott took home the men’s title.
Beth Armstrong paced the women’s 10-mile race and Nicholas Clark crossed the finish first for the men.
The run featured a race record 502 participants. All proceeds from the race will be used to support The Rotary Club of Kauai’s annual scholarship donations to the students in the Nursing and Technology Departments at the University of Hawaii-Kaua‘i campus.
