Tsutomu Higa
Tsutomu “Tommy” Higa of Kapa‘a died at Garden Isle Health Care on Oct. 29, 2011, at age 80. Born in Kapa‘a on Aug. 8, 1931, he was a Korean War veteran and retired as an electronic technician with TRW Space & Defense Sector.
He is survived by four brothers, Shigeo (Katherine) Higa of Honolulu, Toshio (Jeane) Higa of Honolulu, Richard (Jane) Higa of California, Kenneth (Amy) Higa of California; two sisters, Fusako Tamashiro of Kapa‘a, Kimiye Koide of Hanama‘ulu; sister-in-law, Dorothy Higa of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion with visitation from 10 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment to follow. Casual attire suggested and family graciously declines flowers.

Itsuji Nishi
Itsuji Nishi of Waimea, Kaua‘i, died Nov. 7, 2011, in Lihu‘e at age 90. He was born on Nov. 5, 1921, in Camp 6.
He is survived by his wife, Yoshiye Nishi; sons, Geary Nishi of U.K. and Les Nishi of Oregon; daughter, Stephanie Quitugua of California; and six grandchildren.
Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Frances Sagadraca
Frances Tabag Sagadraca of Lihu‘e peacefully died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 10, 2011, at age 82. Born in Pasuquin, Philippines, on April 2, 1929, she worked as a waitress for many years at Wailua Marina Restaurant, Spindrifter and Ono Family Restaurant.
She is survived by her husband, Hermogenes Sagadraca of Lihu‘e; son, Danny (Odette) Sagadraca of O‘ahu; two grandchildren, Sasha Sagadraca and Daniel Sagadraca, both of Arizona; brother, Eusebio Tabag; sister, Carmen Marcos both of the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, at the War Memorial Convention Hall with visitation from 8:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Mary Case
Mary Marie Case of Po‘ipu died Nov. 4, 2011, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born July 13, 1920, in San Diego, Calif., she was a retired sergeant in the U.S. Army (Woman’s Air Corp.), stationed in the Philippines and New Guinea, and was awarded a Bronze Star.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Case, Po‘ipu; sons, Gary Case, Po‘ipu, and Jeff Case, Big Island; sister, Connie Hillburn, California; brother, George Mosher, California; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Po‘ipu Beach Park Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Charles Saiki
Charles Mitsuru Saiki of Wailua Houselots died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 11, 2011, at age 87. Born in Wailua on June 3, 1924, he was a member of the 442nd squadron and retired from the County of Kaua‘i as a supervisor with the Waste Water Division.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Saiki of Wailua Houselots; two sons, Clint (Sheila) Saiki and Alan (Missy) Saiki, both of Wailua Homesteads; four grandchildren; three brothers, Robert, Jimmy (May) and Clifton (Florence); one sister, Kay Terao; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Kapa‘a Hongwanji Mission with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m.

Rita Osamu
Rita “Olika” Taifane Osamu of Lihu‘e died Nov. 11, 2011, at age 48 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1963, in Fagasa, American Samoa, she was an escrow officer.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Eseneiaso Aitu Taifane; and sister, Fuifuilotu Scanlan .
She is survived by her husband, Sione Osamu, Lihu‘e; daughters, Renee “Sivai” (Iwalani) To’oto’o, Lihu‘e, Lisa “Lopeti” (Sione) Teumisinale, Sacramento, Eseneiaso “Ese” (Jhonny) Tarin, Lihu‘e; son, Semisi “Misi” Osamu, Lihu‘e; father, Tuaniga Taifane, Lihu‘e; sisters, Laina Taifane, Valisa (Sione) Fifita, Faith (Yuteson) Po-Ching; one grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Remembering with the family on Friday, Nov. 18, at Lihu‘e United Church. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. and again on Saturday, Nov. 19. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.

Lois Hoskins
Lois Roberts Hoskins of Kapa‘a died at home on Nov. 9, 2011, at age 94. Born in Melba, Idaho, on June 5, 1917, she was a teacher and dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Maloney Hoskins.
She is survived by four children, Theresa (Anthony) Michel of Massachusetts, Laurel (Gardner) Quarton of Kaua‘i, Adrienne (Michael) Muller of California, Scott (Susan) Hoskins of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; brother, Wayne Roberts of Oregon; sisters, Mary Lou Kohler of Nebraska; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
