Waimea High School will be performing an emergency evacuation drill scheduled for one day in November, a press release states. The school is asking the public and community to please be aware for the safety of our students, faculty and staff.
Each school conducts drills throughout the school year to help students and staff prepare for possible emergencies.
Parents and guardians can help by ensuring that their child’s emergency contact information is accurate and current. Please follow the tips listed below:
• Do not call or rush to your child’s school. Phone lines are needed for emergency response efforts
• Do not phone your child. Everyone is discouraged from using cell phone communication for safety reasons
• Tune in to local TV and radio stations for official school news alerts
• Rely only on official communication from school or public safety officials
• Students will be released only to parents/guardians who are documented as emergency contacts and who present a picture ID
• Go to the DOE website at doe.k12.hi.us for emergency updates
If you have any questions or concerns about Waimea High School’s upcoming emergency evacuation drill scheduled during the month of November, please contact the school at 338-6800.
