LIHU‘E — The county is working to provide a working parking and traffic-flow plan for Saturday’s first round of the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association State Football Championship.
The public is advised to arrive early in order to find adequate parking, and to park only in open stalls for the Kapa‘a High School Warriors versus the Pearl City High School Chargers at Vidinha Stadium starting at 4:30 p.m.
“With the public’s assistance, we can insure that everyone gets to and from the game safely and in a timely manner,” stated Captain Michael Contrades of KPD’s Patrol Services Bureau.
Kaua‘i Police Department, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation are working cooperatively. They want the public to know that area fronting the ticket booth and behind the scoreboard and visitor stands will be coned off as no- parking zones.
Additionally, there will be no access to the stadium via Kaana Road. Police will block off Ka‘ana Road to the public, except for those needing access to KPD police headquarters from Kapule Highway.
