LAWA‘I — Police arrested an Anahola man on Sunday morning following an altercation with another motorist.
Kaua‘i Police Department reports that officers responded to 911 calls to Kaumuali‘i Highway fronting Lawa‘i Mortuary at approximately 9:36 a.m.
Ryan Cummings, 44, of Anahola, had apparently initiated an altercation with another man inside his vehicle. The victim, a visitor driving a Jeep Wrangler, had apparently overtaken Cummings’ vehicle on the highway heading west near ‘Oma‘o Bridge.
Cummings followed the visitor and stopped his vehicle by blocking it with his Nissan Frontier pickup in front of the mortuary. Cummings then allegedly approached the Jeep and punched the driver.
The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention. Police located Cummings a short while later and arrested him on one count of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. Cummings was released after posting bail of $1,000.
