Jesusa Andres Fernandez of Ontario, Canada, died May 14, 2011, at Toronto East Genral Hospital, Toronto, Ontario at age 58. Born in Bacarra Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was an employee at Park Hyatt Hotel.
She is survived by her brothers, Ernesto, Rodrigo, Gil and Romeo; sisters, Godofreda F. Millo and Andrea F. Thomas; 14 nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. and Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.

Otoman-Binasa
Marcelino Otoman-Binasa of Kekaha died Sept. 24, 2011, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 92. Born April 25, 1922, in the Philippines, he was a retired supervisor with Kekaha Sugar Co.
He is survived by his daughter, Annette Meranian; grandson, Chase Meranian; brother, Cipriano (Sachie) Otoman; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Theresa Catholic Church; Mass at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Anthony Silva
Anthony “Tony” Silva of Kalaheo died peacefully at home on Oct. 9, 2011, at age 70. Born in Koloa on Dec. 31, 1940, he was a retired County of Kaua‘i fire captain and Air National Guard master sergeant. He was employed as a construction manager for SSFM International.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Madeline Silva; brother, John Silva; and granddaughter, Lilinoe Pai.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Silva; sons, Koni (Debbie) Silva and Corey (Elise) Silva; daughter, Lisa (Michael) Pai; grandchildren, Kaycie Silva, Kain Silva, Kamalei Pai, Kelsie Pai, Pihana Pai, Coryssa Silva and Casera Silva; great-grandchildren, Shaylie Pai-Hanawahine, Shayden Pai-Hanawahine, Shazden Pai-Hanawahine, Michaella Pai and Mae Lynn Pai; brother, Joe Silva; sisters, Aileen (Francis) Brun and Marie Managuchei; sister-in-law, Diana Silva; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved dog, Nakoa.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens. Casual attire suggested.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Silva family with arrangements.
Yasuo Nakamatsu
Yasuo Nakamatsu of Lawa‘i died Sept. 20, 2011, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 87. Born July 20, 1924, in Lihu‘e, he was a court administrator with the Fifth Circuit Court.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; parents, Jiro and Makasei (Higa) Nakamatsu; brother, Mitssuo (Yachiyo) Nakamatsu; and sister, Betty (Hajime) Gushiken.
She is survived by her sons, Miles (Amy) Nakamatsu of Kalaheo and Lenny (Stephanie) Nakamatsu of Lawai; brother, Yasu (Sue) Nakamatsu; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
