KAPA‘A — The Kapa‘a transfer station is scheduled for repair and maintenance work from Oct. 17 to Nov. 4, a county news release states.
The scope of work includes: repairs to the hydraulic cylinder; replacement of various equipment parts; and improvements to the floor and wear surface.
While the work is under way, loose mixed waste will not be accepted at the facility, the release states. However, all other services will continue including: bagged trash; along with green waste, scrap metals, appliances, propane tanks, used tires and residential used motor oil and motor oil filters for recycling.
Residents wishing to dispose of loose mixed waste during the repairs can take their items to the Lihu‘e transfer station.
The hours of the transfer stations are 7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
