KAPA‘A — Ke Akua Youth Group of All Saints’ Church in Kapa‘a will be hosting its Fur-tastic event, Saturday on the lawn of the All Saints Gym.
Broken down into three parts, the “triple treat” demonstrates the youth group’s support of the Kaua‘i Humane Society, Ka Akua Youth Group adopting the KHS as one of its service organizations.
An Adopt-a-Pet event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by the Blessing of the Animals service by Father Ben at 5:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to bring their pet, furry, finned, or feathered, said Sybil Nishioka, Family Ministries, All Saints’ Church, in an email.
At sunset, following the blessing of the animals, Ke Akua Youth Group will host a free double feature movie-on-the lawn featuring Disney’s “Spooky Buddies” which was just released this week, followed by “Soul Surfer,” a movie about Kaua‘i’s own Bethany Hamilton.
People are asked to refrain from bringing coolers, and instead, support Ke Akua Youth Group’s concession stand.
The event is made possible through a grant from the Antone and Edene Vidinha Trust.
