Police to conduct training exercise this week

LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Police Department will be conducting official training this week through Thursday, between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., at the former Fifth Circuit Court Building on Umi Street in Lihu‘e.

The public may see officers in the vicinity of the building with weapons drawn, a county news release states.

Residents are reminded to note that this is only training. No live munitions will be used, although the sounds of blank rounds may be heard.

KPD requests the public’s assistance in keeping a distance from, and not interfering with the training exercise.
