KAPA‘A — Celebrate the useful and tasty coconut Saturday and Sunday at Kaua‘i’s 15th annual Coconut Festival presented by the Kapa‘a Business Association, a news release states.
In addition to entertainment, crafts, games, exhibits and cooking shows, on Sunday afternoon only, the festival will feature a coconut cook-off contest.
Anyone can enter a dish in either a first course or dessert category — just make sure that coconut is an ingredient.
The contest will be judged by professional chefs and island celebrities, the release states. Prizes will be awarded.
Admission to the festival is free; donations are requested. Application form are available on the web at www.kbakauai.org.
The festival takes place at Kapa‘a Beach Park (next to the Kapa‘a Library) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
