Wanda “Leota” Singleton passed away at home on Sept. 9, 2011 at the age of 83. Born on March 2, 1928 in Hugo, Colo., she was beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Singleton; parents, Ralph and Alice Vick, brothers, Robert and Neil Vick.
She is survived by her daughters Lynda (Al) White, Bonnie McGahan (Charlie Fu Jr.); sons Gary (Shelly) McLeod, Donald (Theresa) McLeod; grandchildren Marie (John) Nigh, Anthony Petrie, Janean Petrie, Winter (Ingrid) McLeod, Brook McLeod, Colin McLeod, Maxwell McLeod, Derek DeSiga and Paisley DeSiga, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Private funeral will be held in Boyero Colorado at a later date.
Nahele Kapua
Nahele Hoku Marie Kapua of Hanama‘ulu died on Sept. 11, 2011, at the age of 16. She was born on Kaua‘i on March 28, 1995, and attended Kaua‘i High School.
She will be dearly missed by her parents, Irvil and Karen Kapua; brothers, Pohaku, Nalu and Makani; half brother, Irvil Kapua Jr. of Las Vegas; half sister, Roxanne Kehau (Arcenio) Racpan of the Big Island; maternal grandparents, Samuel and June Leialoha of O‘ahu; hanai brother, Justin Kanoho; hanai sisters, Kapua Chandler and Megan Vento, numerous, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends and family are welcomed to her home on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, from 10 a.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Hirene Chase
Hirene Racoma Chase, of Captain Cook, Hawai‘i, died Sept. 4, 2011 at the age of 54. Born in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, She worked in the aviation industry as a ramp agent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Garciano and Hannah (Kapule) Racoma.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Chase of Pennsylvania; brothers David Kealoha Jr. of Waiminalo, Hawai‘i; Richard Racoma of Honolulu, Hawai‘i; William G. Racoma Sr. of Kailua Kona, Hawai‘i, Seu “Junior” (Mary) Racoma of Paradise Valley, Arizona; Rooney Racoma of Wahiawa, Hawai‘i; Ernest Michael Racoma of Kaka‘ako, Hawai‘i; sisters Hannah Noblisse of Anahola, Kaua‘i; Mary (Joseph) Blackstad of Kekaha, Kaua‘i; Marta (Donald) Moniz of Captain Cook, Hawai‘i; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held on Kaua‘i.
