Wilma Mata

Wilma Ione “Bucky” Mata died Aug. 31, 2011, at age 73. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Upon her passing, she was surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on Sept. 11, 1937, in Humboldt County, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Mata, and grandson, Bryson Mata.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Mata; daughters, Sharlene Mata, Marianne (Sam) Sheldon, Sheana Mata and son, Robert Mata; grandchildren, Kiinani, Larry Boy, Kainalu, Chelsea, Kanani and Kaysha; great-grandchildren, Austin, Jaesha, Jonah, Kalia, Akoni and Kaiea all of Kaua‘i; sister, Carol Ervin of California; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center. Visitation with family will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with service to follow.

Private burial will be held at a later date.

Ikaika Smith

Ikaika “Little Prince” Peter Smith of Kailua Kona and Lihu‘e died Aug. 27, 2011, at home at the age of 15 months. He was born on May 7, 2010, in Honolulu.

He is survived by his parents, Tina Smith and Gabriel Magbanua; sister, Alexzandria Smith all of Kailua Kona; brothers, Christian Seyfried of Germany; Daniel and Francisco Smith-Magbanua of Kailua Kona; maternal-grandmother, Carrie Henas of Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i; paternal grandparents, Roman and Ellen Magbanua of Kailua Kona; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Service information will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are made by Cremation Services of West Hawai‘i.
