Walk-A-Thon set for Oct. 29

LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i United Way’s 42nd annual Walk-A-Thon is coming up Oct. 29 at Kukui Grove Center, a news release states.

The Walk is an opportunity for any Kaua‘i nonprofit to earn money for their own cause, the release states. Official non-profit certification is not required. Nonprofits collect pledges, turn in the money, and a few weeks after the event receive a check for half the money raised, the release states. The other half goes to the social service work of Kaua‘i United Way’s 28 participating agencies.
