Lynette Carineo, 50 of Hilo, HI, passed away on August 22, 2011 at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Waimea, Kauai on July 19, 1961. A committal service will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Cemetery. She is survived by 5 brothers, Francisco (Lei) Carineo, Jr. of Hanapepe; Jerry (Nora) Carineo of Hanamaulu; Lindsey (Joyce) Carineo of Koloa; Edwin Carineo of Koloa; and Ricky Carineo of Kalaheo. 7 sisters, Yvonne Carineo of Koloa; Lorraine (Daniel) Manus of Eleele; Rosalyn Hosaka of Waimea; Joann Carineo of Hilo; Joan Olive of Hilo; Frances Carineo of Hilo and Laverne Boyston of Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard Jardin of Kalaheo died Aug. 21, 2011, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 84. Born Jan. 10, 1927, in Kalaheo, he was a salesman with Pacific Machinery.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Jardin; sons, Richard Jardin of South Carolina and John (Arlene) Jardin of Kalaheo; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia McGuire of Colorado and Margret Campos of Washington; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; Mass is at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Presentacion Igarta of Wailuku died Aug. 23, 2011, at the Maui Memorial Medical Center at age 93. Born Nov. 19, 1917, in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired seamstress at the Napili Kai Beach Resort in Lahaina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo; parents, Fabian and Petra Yadao; son, William Igarta; daughter-in-law, Aurea Igarta; daughter, Connie Censer; sisters, Serafina Ingan and Maria Impelido; and three brother-in-laws, Florentino Adres, Tito Ingan and Eleuterio Jaramillo.
She is survived by her two sons, Florita (Remedios) and Orlando (Remia) Igarta; daughter, Angelita (Warlito) Lived; three sisters, Paulina Andres, Adelina Jaramillo and Leonila Yadao; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather for funeral services on Friday, Sept. 2, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Visitation is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. with a Mass at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at 9:30 a.m. with a service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at the church.
