Happy Camper for Monday, August 29, 2011

Stephen Fujii knew where all the good food was at the farm fair. Anita Kaneakua had a supply of homemade energy bars to last the four days while manning the Kaua‘i Bonsai Club display area, and Sandi Kato-Klutke came to volunteer despite having surgery on her hand.

Hats off to Melissa McFerrin, Jerry Ornellas, Johnny Gordines, Roy Oyama and the hundreds of other people who make the whole thing a success.

Hannah Huang said the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau members help her a lot every day with the Sunshine Markets and the community markets so she spent her Saturday night helping.

Laurie Ho got to spend some time away from the fair, but did not miss the fruit and vegetable auction, and you had to watch

out if you scratched your head, Friday because Gary Pacheco took that gesture as a bid.

Aletha Kaohi did a great job with the Waimea waterline project dedication and on the way back to Lihu‘e, it  was nice to see Coach Destry Carvalho and Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho enjoying the Ishihara Market lunch, wondering what all the lei was about.
