Matthew Victor
Matthew Gordon Victor of Lihu‘e died July 29, 2011, at age 52. He was the founder and beloved pastor of ‘Ohana Christian Fellowship for 13 years and employed as a TSA agent.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Victor.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Victor of 24 years; sons, Jeremy and Daniel Victor; daughter, Jamie Victor; parents, Bernard and Mae Victor; brothers, Allen (Elizabeth) Victor; Guy Victor; Lee (Rachel) Victor; numerous nieces and nephews. He was also loved by the Johnson (Ruth) family, his Christian brothers and sisters, the soccer and surfing community and throughout Kaua‘i and Kailua, O‘ahu, his birth hometown.
A remembrance and celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14, at the War Memorial Convention Hall. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 1:30 p.m., following a committal prayer and scattering of ashes in a “paddle-out” at 5:30 p.m. at Hanalei Pier.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
Bernadine Enrique
Bernadine “Taga” Kukana Yuen Lan Ho Enrique of Anahola died Aug. 6, 2011, at home at age 67.
Born on O‘ahu on April 30, 1944, she retired as a teacher from Kapa‘a High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Enrique; grandson, Keli‘i Enrique; and sister, Cathy Carvalho.
She is survived by seven children, Joseph (Mary) Enrique II, JoDine “Kealoha” Enrique, Joseph Paul Enrique, JoWell Enrique, Joseph S Ah Luke Enrique, JoRina Enrique Holland, Justyce Enrique; mother, Priscilla Ho; brothers, Moses “Koko” (Virgie) Ho, Kenneth “Dudie” Ho, Kevin Ho; sisters, Moana DeMello, Sui Lan Kepa, Kim Lan (Bert) Tasaka, Yuk Lan (Gary) Young, Ah Lan Ho; 13 grandchildren, Jocelyn, Joseph, Jonah, Josiah, Pikake, Jovi, Chavez, Jimmy, LeiAloha, Jonay, Jaylee, Katelynn and Cody; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Kalihiwai and Taylin; numerous, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Anahola Baptist Church with visitation at 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10 a.m. Scattering of her ashes will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Waimanalo Bay on O‘ahu.

Kenneth Douglas Gray Sr. died May 28, 2011, in Manila, Philippines. Born Feb. 14, 1954, in Newport, Ore., he was retired and a former manager at Syngenta Seeds.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Priscilla Faye Gray.
He is survived by his father, William (Prima) Gray; mother, Ora Mae Hutchison; seven children, Samuel (Kristl) Gray; Susanna (David) Taylor; Daniel Gray; Michael (Melissa) Gray; Douglas Gray; Kenneth Gray Jr.; Kenberley Gray; siblings, Bill Gray; Theresa Gray; Barb (Leon) McDonald; Kim (Holly) Hutchison; Neva (Mike) Demaris; Pearl (Ray) Hettwer; Alan Gray; Rosella (Larry) Bailey; Gretel Gray; Grayson Gray and seven grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, at MacArthur Park.
Ellsworth Kaohi Sr.
Ellsworth Kiekie Kaohi Sr. of Kawaihae, Hawai‘i died on June 19, 2011 at the age of 77. Born on Feb. 25, 1934 in Hanapepe, he worked in the visitor industry at the Waikoloa Hilton Hotel.
He is survived by his wife Joanne; son, Ellsworth Kaohi Jr.; daughters, Roslyn (Steve) Choi; Kimberly Kaohi; brothers, Dudie Kaohi; Clarence Kaohi; William Kaohi of Kaua‘i and Ronald Kaohi of Honolulu; sisters, Mercedes Ching and Betty Kaleohano of Kaua‘i; Arlene Naholoholo of California; 7 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church in Hanapepe, Kaua‘i. Family visitation is at 9:30 a.m., with services at 10:30 a.m.

Aly Christian
Aly Kawaipuna Christian of Anahola, Kaua‘i passed away on Aug. 6, 2011 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 91. Born on March 25, 1920 in Puna, Big Island, he was a meat inspector for the state of Hawai‘i and co-owner of Anahola Hawaiian Foods.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne D. Christian.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Christian of Anahola; son, Eric (Norma) Christian of Anahola; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Lihu‘e Cemetery. Graveside service is at 10 a.m.

Michael Patrick Gallagher of Springerville, Ariz. died on Aug. 4, 2011 in Western New Mexico at the age of 47. He was born on March 17, 1964 in Milwaukee, WI.
He is survived by his wife, Shanda Werry Gallagher; sons, Noah Gallagher and Alex Doolittle; parents, Dr. Brian and Mrs. Deanna Gallagher; In-laws, Mac and Debbie Werry; sister, Mary Gallagher Damiani; brother-in-law, David Damiani; niece, Mia and brother-in-law, Ryan Werry.
Memorial service were held on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 4 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, 535 N. Main St. Eagar, Ariz. 85925.

Izumi Yamamoto
Izumi Yamamoto of Waimea, Kaua‘i died on Aug. 1, 2011 at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 99. Born on Feb. 21, 1912, he was a carpenter with Morikawa Construction.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yukie Yamamoto and son-in-law, Thomas Tomimoto.
He is survived by his son, Wallace Yamamoto (Karen) of Kalaheo and daughter, Nancy Tomimoto of Waimea; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were private. Family request no koden (monetary gifts) be given.

Seikichi Ikehara
Seikichi Ikehara of Hanapepe died on Aug. 8, 2011 at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 91. Born on April 27, 1920 in Waimea, he was a laborer with American Factory and a cook with Sunrise Café.
He was preceded in death by his son, Denis Ikehara; sisters, Florence Ishii and Tsuyuko “Patsy” Peleras; half brother, Seiyei Ikehara; brothers-in-law, German Peleras and Ray Moreira.
He is survived by sons, Sidney S. Ikehara and Clinton S. Ikehara, both of Hanapepe; daughter, Sally Adolfo; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Seiichi (Aiko) Ikehara of Waipahu; sister, Beatrice Moreira of Honolulu; nieces and nephews.
Services are private.
