About the designers:
machinemachine
Shannon Hiramoto (aka machinemachine) started her company four years ago after finding inspiration in a short story by E.M. Foster about human empowerment and existence amongst technology. Inspired by the ideals in the story, Hiramoto makes everything with her own two hands.
Using a lot of vintage and recycled fabrics, machinemachine clothing is bright, fun and is always fresh. Her one of a kind pieces offer the girls (and guys) in Hawai‘i an alternative to mass-produced clothing or expensive designer wear. Dresses start at $76. Hats are $36.
Julie Mai Designs
The North Shore jewelry designer dreams up contemporary island pieces made out of hammered silver and gold. Earrings range from $65 to $150. Necklaces range from $150 to $200. Mai will bring new designs to Saturday’s trunk show.
Leiko
Born and raised on the Westside, Julie Lopez uses vintage Hawaiian fabrics to make one-of-a-kind clutches for her line, Leiko. Her colorful creations range from $50 to $75.
