Happy Camper for Saturday, August 6, 2011

Welcome aboard to Chantal Zarbaugh, recently hired as the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce’s executive assistant. Chantal was getting her feet wet during the Thursday Chamber Business After Hours event hosted by the Westin Princeville.

Hats off to Randall Francisco and Carol Texeira for pulling everything together for the Chamber. Ivory McClintock of Blue Planet made a trip home (yes, she’s a Kaua‘i girl) to help with the CFL exchange, too.

Kudos to Denise Wardlow and her entire Westin ‘ohana on the great hospitality, and it was nice to see how the island came together when Uncle Pete and Auntie Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza came all the way from Hanapepe to provide entertainment.

Jason Fujinaka got pulled from his vacation by Val Rynda (how did they know Lorna Santos was going to make the trip all the way from Lawa‘i?), and Aram Keuilian of Regency at Puakea said he thinks lemon meringue pie will be on tap for National Lemon Meringue Pie Day Aug. 15 (Aug. 17 is National Vanilla Custard Day, Aug. 18 is National Ice Cream Pie Day, and the list goes on). Mark your calendar, Mary Thronas!
