Rob’s Good Times Grill in Lihu‘e is where you go to dance and, of course, have a good time. And if you want to have a great drink, ask for a chocolate martini.
“It’s so delicious and so pretty,” outspoken bartender Chyann Silva raved. “It’s for all chocolate lovers.”
The secret — which separates this chocolate martini from others — is probably the whipped cream mixed in it.
Chyann has been working at Rob’s for the last eight years. The best and also the busiest nights, she says, are on Saturdays. But she also likes the country line dancing on Wednesday and the small crowd that comes for the Latin dance night on Thursday.
The Kaua‘i born-and-raised wahine is a mother to a 2-year-old boy and a devoted girlfriend. She said she likes to spend time at the beach and with her family. Oh yes, and shopping is high on her list of fun things to do, too.
Rob’s is not just about dancing. They actually bill themselves as “Kaua‘i’s only real sports bar.” Well, a few other places would dispute that, but Rob’s does have nice selection of sports scheduled to show on its various flat screen TVs all around the bar. And yes, they show soccer!
Rob’s is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily, but the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. It may be a sports bar with lots of dancing and some darn good drinks, but the food is pretty good, too. Try it.
