Happy Camper for Saturday, July 30, 2011

Mary Nakamura had a dream of a mural and it’s coming true at the Anahola Clubhouse. Community volunteers and children are coming out between noon and 5 p.m. to help create the Circle of Life art piece which encircles the clubhouse.

It might be a good stopping point for those heading to the North Shore for its full day of activities … Defries Lunchwagon looks appetizing as well.

Chef Rafael Camarillo was taking a break from getting ready for the Courtyard Marriott at Coconut Beach’s Christmas in July to watch the kids enjoy the Ice Cream Social which benefits the Give Kids the World Village Ice Cream for Breakfast program. Ike Cockett had his family out to enjoy the nice way to beat the summer heat.

Jason Fujinaka of FM97 had his sales crew on hand when he dropped by to visit following the Rotary Club of Kapa‘a meeting Wednesday, where Diann Hartman and Chris Valentino of the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i and Beth Tokioka of the County of Kaua‘i were honored as the 2011 Green Award winners.

Congrats to all … now, it’s off to Koloa before they close the road.
