Roslin’s 14 helpHanakila snare top seed in Boys 14 Under hoops

Christian Roslin scored 14 points and got help from Lexton Camat with 12 points and Triston Hawelo-Inanod adding 11 points to lead Hanakila to a 56-45 win over Team Lihu‘e in one of two Boys 14 and Under basketball games played Thursday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.

The Hanakila victory places them as the top seed with a 7-1 record in the Kaua‘i Summer Youth Basketball league hosted by the Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association and the County of Kaua‘i.

Jordan Florence set the pace for the Team Lihu‘e effort with a blistering game-high 30 points.

In other action, Junard Mata led the Kaua‘i Ballers to an 88-16 showing over the West Kaua‘i Hornets in the second game of the night, the Kaua‘i Ballers win placing it in the No. 2 seed with a 6-2 record while Team Lihu‘e gets the No. 3 seed with a 3-5 standing and the West Kaua‘i Hornets round out the seeds with an 0-8 record.

Mata finished the night with a game-high 23 points followed by Willo Batol netting 15 points for the Kaua‘i Ballers’ win.

John Carlo Villanueva and Noah Arruda set the pace for the Hornets with 10 and four points, respectively.

Mike Lindsey and Manny Pescador combined for 31 points to lead Manny’s Sports to a 63-57 edge over the Kaua‘i Ballers in one of three Men 18 and Over games played at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center.

Lance Miyashiro tied Lindsey’s production with 17 points to lead the Kaua‘i Ballers’ effort while Kainoa Colipano tied Pescador’s shooting with 14 points to aid the effort.

Brendan McDaniels finished with a game-high 31 points to lead GEK to a 63-59 edge over Hanakila who got 14 points apiece from Marlon Cudiamat and Bryson Nacapuy.

Randy Vicoy netted 25 points to lead the Warriors to an 80-49 lead over Westside Pride in the Kilauea nightcap.

Austin Rosa and Emery Souza each added 17 points to the Warriors’ win while Noah Foote set the pace for Westside Pride with 13 points.

Playoffs in the different divisions start Tuesday with the Boys 12 and Under taking the floor at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center starting at 6 p.m.

The Girls 12 and Under division playoffs play at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center starting at 6 p.m.
