The Nawiliwili Yacht Club will host the first race of its Horse and Pony Series, Thursday at the Nawiliwili Harbor.
The public is invited to view this exciting series which involves two races in a single race.
Races open with the large boat, or horse, racing along a shoreline course designated by the NYC Race Committee on race day followed by a race in a smaller craft, usually a Laser or a Topper, by a designated crew member of the large boat.
Viewing vantage point is from the Nawiliwili Harbor jetty wall area and there is no admission to view the competition which over the past few weeks, have been heart-stopping due to the weather conditions.
The NYC Horse and Pony series will run for four weeks with the last race taking place July 21.
First flags fly at 5 p.m.
