Kaua‘i Repertory Theatre Company hosts a a free stage reading of “Hawai‘i’s Comic History” 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Aston Aloha Beach Hotel in the Historic Ali‘i Theater.
The 90-minute comedy uses three actors to portray more than 60 characters, who sing and dance as they revel in the past 1,700 years of Hawai‘i’s history, according to a press release.
Characters include President Obama, Mae West, Steven Spielberg, LL Cool J, Elvis Presley, The Marx Brothers, Abbott and Costello, Gilligan, Franklin Roosevelt, Puff the Magic Dragon, Don Ho, the goddess Pele, Queen Lili‘uokalani, Ozzie and Harriet, Bob Fosse, three unsuspecting tourists, Captain Cook and Surfer Dude.
“Hawai‘i’s Comic History” is scheduled to open this fall.
