Happy Camper for Saturday, May 28, 2011

Happy birthday to Robbie Kaholokula (you can see him tonight at the KCC Performing Arts Center), who celebrated his special day Wednesday.

The tidbit came from Raymond Duarte, who was working sound for Ron Wiley, Andy Melamed and Denise Roberts during the Kaua‘i Youth Awards at Kalapaki Joe’s (Jody Valente said B.J. Penn stops in at 3 p.m.) in Nawiliwili.

Hats off to Jody and his crew on a great job. Several of the guests had their first-time experience with the Harbor Mall outlet.

Penny Young of the Waimea Main Street program is also excited about the blessing of the signboards which will be appearing at notable points around “the Talking Town.” She said the blessing will be followed by special guests Charlie Iona who will launch the “Music in the Park” series at Hofgaard Park across from Ishihara Market.

Pedro Saligumba of the Kaulupono team is getting excited since his team has a KYBA game this weekend and his nephew from Maui is coming to play in the Lihu‘e Baseball League’s 7th Annual Da Bash, where Andrea Frainier has a 5 a.m. shift at the food booth.
