PO‘IPU — Chef Jean Marie Josselin and business partner Andrew Ha will celebrate the first anniversary of Josselin’s Tapas Bar and Grill while helping the Wilcox Health Foundation from 5 to 9 p.m. May 14.
The Culinary and Couture Celebration at Kukui‘ula Village will benefit Kaua‘i by raising funds for cutting-edge health care for Kaua‘i’s residents and visitors, states a release from Kukui‘ula.
“We wanted to celebrate our first year anniversary with the people who made us successful — Kaua‘i’s residents and visitors — while at the same time supporting a project we are passionate about,” Ha said in the release. “It made perfect sense to partner with the Wilcox Health Foundation and assist them in securing a very special piece of equipment for the hospital.”
A limited number of general tickets for the event are available at $125 each and $175 for VIP tickets.
The celebration will be an evening of culinary delights featuring Chef Josselin and several celebrity chefs, including Kaua‘i Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr.
A fashion show will be hosted in the Palm Court across from Josselin’s, and will introduce unique Kaua‘i designers as well as some trendy new summer looks from national retailers.
The Palm Court area will also feature a sangria and wine bar, live music and a silent auction.
Ron Wiley, the on-air radio personality from the KQNG Radio Group, will emcee.
Each person purchasing a ticket will receive a $25 Kukui‘ula Village gift card for shopping following the event. VIP ticket holders will have reserved seating at the fashion show, be served their own special tapas and receive a VIP gift bag.
Proceeds from the first anniversary celebration will help raise the necessary funding for the Wilcox Memorial Hospital to purchase a 256-slice computed tomographic scanner, one of the most technologically advanced pieces of diagnostic equipment in the world today.
Wilcox Memorial Hospital will become the only medical facility in Hawai‘i with this revolutionary technology.
The 256-Slice CT Scanner will help diagnose cardiovascular disease, stroke and trauma as well as be invaluable in monitoring cancers and joint replacements, reduce radiation from 40 to 80 percent and allow clinicians to better scan young children.
Most importantly, this extraordinary piece of equipment will help save lives.
“The 256-slice CT Scanner will allow Wilcox Memorial Hospital to provide superior diagnostics in all areas of use, but most especially in our cardiac department,” said Kathy Clark, chief operating officer of Wilcox Memorial Hospital. “As cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in both the U.S. and in Hawai‘i, our cardiologists will be able to identify this disease earlier and completely noninvasively.”
