Nelson Batalion and John Constantino are happy Kaua‘i Community College is able to put on the 2011 Earth Day Celebration taking place today from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Earlier in the year, Nelson was worried budget cuts were going to jeopardize having the event, but everything worked out and James Trujillo and Brian Alston (hats off on a great Walk A Mile event!) invite everyone to check out the celebration at the KCC campus.
James said Chris Kauwe of Honi Honi Honey is loaning him some bees for the Kaua‘i Beekeepers Association exhibit.
Starting with the “Walk A Mile” event, Cammie Matsumoto said there was the special literature reading for middle and high schools, and following Earth Day, there’s a WorkWise Job Fair Thursday at 9:30 a.m. With that much going on, no wonder there’s no time to visit Noel Mock at the KCC Bookstore.
Noel Brooks of Kaua‘i Orchids (don’t forget the Mother’s Day Orchid Show and Sale coming up in May) said he’s got some fancy lotus about to spring into bloom, so stay tuned.
Troy Lazaro is going crazy with May Day at the Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club. This year, he’s got things going on Saturday and Sunday (that’s the official May Day). Now, when is the Kaua‘i Museum’s May Day?
